How to contact your representatives

I'm coming to the realization (rather late in life) that it really *does* matter if we, as citizens, speak our minds. While it's patently obvious that one vote among millions really doesn't carry much weight, voting is really only one small part of the involvement open to us. What I'm saying is, you should vote, but you should also strive to communicate with the appropriate representatives whenever you have strong feelings about an issue. Especially before a law is introduced, and while it is being discussed ad infinitum, your citizen-wishes may actually get respected by your representative IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE.

This site is a great starting point. It links or gives you the contact information for the President, your Congressmen and Representatives in Washington, D.C., and the ones at the state level, as well as governors, AND suggestions for who to contact on specific issues.

I'd love feedback on the best ways to figure out who to talk to, how to find their information, and who actually responds to your correspondence.
