This just in from Grist.com: fast food chains give up "pink slime" meat product. (mild language)
Favorite line? "The resulting "meat" isn't necessarily unsafe -- in fact, industry people are bitching about how food activists are making them reduce food safety, to which we say if your meat needs to be doused with ammonia to make it safe to eat then maybe you have bigger problems than food activists."
What Can I Do?

Do the "experts" get to decide everything for us, or just give counsel?
Should we not have the liberty to choose the food we eat, the medicine we use, the transportation we use (all of which involve risk, that we as individuals assess every day).
"... the real experts will speak for themselves, one by one. If expert opinion is to govern, individuals should be free to implement the advice prescribed by their own unique expertise about their own unique circumstances and risk tolerance."
